11 October 2006 - Accelerating the availability of broadband wireless access, Intel today announced the availability of the Intel® WiMAX Connection 2250, the company's next-generation system-on-chip and its first designed to support mobile networks in addition to fixed networks. The Intel WiMAX Connection 2250 is the industry's first dual-mode baseband chip, and when paired with Intel's discrete tri-band WiMAX radio, the solution is capable of supporting all global WiMAX frequencies. Work that has begun on a mobile WiMAX trial in Portland, Ore. in collaboration with Clearwire and Motorola. The trial is expected to run through 2007.

14 July 2006 - Engadget has posted about this KillerNic creation hours ago on their website. This aptly named Killer Network Interface card just might be the most unique gamer-centric component we've seen; this amped up gigabit NIC has its own 400Mhz network processing unit, 64MB of dedicated DDR RAM, a USB 2.0 port, and touts itself as one of the first consumer uses ofCorporate Network Acceleration Technology. 4 May 2006 - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has introduced the WL-500g Premium wireless router, which includes features for convenient downloads and file storage, faster data transfer, broader coverage and smooth media streaming. The included ASUS Download Master technology features several innovations to simplify the download process. The WL-500g Premium 802.11g router can be transformed into a wireless storage center by attaching an external hard drive via USB 2.0. 18 July 2006 - Some of HP¡¯s biggest brains have created what the company claims is the world¡¯s tiniest wireless data chip. The vendor¡¯s Memory Spot technology, developed at its labs in Bristol, currently squeezes 256Kb to 4Mb of memory and an antenna into a device between 2mm and 4mm square. Or, as HP phrases it for those of us only able to think of things in terms of food, about the size of a grain of rice. Future versions will no doubt have much larger capacities.
