28 February 2008 - DFI has changed the PCB layout of LANParty UT X48-T3R board as the 2nd and 3rd PCIe slots are too near to each other. You can do a comparison between the old layout and this new one. DFI wll show the MP version with the new layout and ThermalRight heatpipe cooler at CeBIT.

25 February 2008 - Intel is preparing a performance IGP chipset for Montevina mobile platform next quarter supporting the new 45nm Intel Core Duo T9000, P9000 and P8000 series. Intel GM47 Express chipset will be the highest end mobile part clocking at 640MHz for the integrated graphics while the GM45 Express chipset clocks in at 533MHz. Both chipsets are based on the Intel GMA X4500HD graphics that enhances HD experience with native HD-DVD and Blu-Ray support. Intel GM47 chipset delivers up to 2X the performance in 3DMark over the GM965 chipset and has broader DX10 game compatibility and support.

4 February 2008 - Intel has sent out a notice to inform partners that the X48 chipset delivery will be delayed to WW12, which is in March. No motherboard manufacturers will get chipsets before that and that includes the first tier like ASUS and Gigabyte. Although there is no reason provided by Intel in the notice but it is definitely not due to the 'one of the first-tier motherboard makers still holds a large volume of X38 chipset inventory' rumors.

25 February 2008 - Foxconn is going to display their Quantum Force "Destroyer" Hybrid SLI board based on the MCP72 chipset over at the upcoming CeBIT. MCP72XE supports AMD AM2/AM2+ processors, PCIe 2.0, HT 3.0, Hybrid SLI technology, a total of 19 PCIe lanes and another 32 lanes from nForce 200 PCIe switch chip, SATA-II and 12 USB 2.0 ports.

21 February 2008 - We've seen Intel rolling out DX10 solutions a couple of month back, and the IGP wars rage on today with Nvidia lifting their embargo for their MCP78 chipset. Today, We will be taking a look at Palit's version of the MCP78S, otherwise known as the Geforce 8200, exploring it's IGP and Hybrid SLI capabilities.

15 February 2008 - VR-Zone has learned more details about a new nForce MCP77 single-chip mGPU for AMD based notebooks coming up in March. MCP77 supports AMD Griffin processor, HyperTransport 3.0, PCI Express 2.0, DX10, SM4.0 etc. There will be 2 SKUs; MCP77H and MCP77MV where their marketing names are GeForce 9200M and GeForce 8200M respectively. MCP77H supports PureVideo HD, full HD video playback, DisplayPort, 15 USB 2.0 ports, 1 x16/6 x1 and Hybrid SLI. MCP77MV only support partial PureVideo HD, basic HD video playback, only HDMI no DisplayPort, 10 USB 2.0 ports, 1 x16/4 x1 and no Hybrid SLI.

24 January 2008 - VR-Zone has captured a CPU-Z screenshot of the Wolfdale E8500 running on a Intel P45 based motherboard. Intel P45 Express chipset is slated to appear in Q2 '08 supporting 1333FSB, up to 8GB of DDR3-1333 or 16GB of DDR2-800 memories, 1 x16 PCIe 2.0 slot or 2 x8 PCIe 2.0 slots and ICH10/R. In this case, we have managed to overclock the CPU to 4.2GHz on air on 440FSB and SuperPI 1M completed in 11.063s. Certainly, more tuning are needed to the board and BIOS to boost the overclockability further.
