15 September 2006 - Not IT related but news nonetheless! A mysterious lady was nearly crushed by the Singapore MRT Train at the Clementi Train Station yesterday, hanging precariously on the edge of the track railing of the high-rised Station! Our Forum Member noobiee has caught some pictures of this unusual sight: A huge crowd gathered below to watch this dangerous act of hers. Check out his forum thread for some juicy details!

27 July 2006 - ASUS World GameMaster Tournament has officially kicked off in Ngee Ann Poly from July 26th to July 28th where gamers compete in three hottest games of the year: Counter Strike: Half Life, DOTA All Stars and Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. 16 August 2006 - Following the successful round of preliminaries at Ngee Ann Poly in July 2006, the second round of WGT preliminaries is scheduled to start at the Business Faculty of Singapore Management University (SMU) on the 22nd Aug 2006 and will last for three days until 24th Aug 2006. The preliminaries at SMU would be opened to all JCs and universities students. Interested participants could sign up here. Besides the intensive gaming competitions, there will also be fun-filled activities such as the Tech Babe Competition and Lucky Dip in which the lucky winner gets to walk away with fabulous prizes. 14 March 2006 - LG announced today that Lee Young Ae, the star of Daejanggeum (English title; A Jewel in the palace), has signed a contract as the company’s face for upcoming marketing campaigns aimed at the Asian market. LG’s integrated marketing campaign for Asia will kick off in January and features both advertising and promotional activities across the region. The ad campaign featuring Lee Young Ae, who played the title role in Daejanggeum, will be executed simultaneously through TV, online, mobile and print media and in public places. Lee Young Ae will also attend promotional events such as new product launch parties, concerts, fan meetings and so on. LG’s integrated marketing campaign for Asia encompasses the whole region and the entire line of LG products including Plasma TV and digital home electronics.

1 November 2005 - NVIDIA Shop-Decor Competition will kick off officially on 14th October and will last one month till 14th November. All the participating shops in the Sim Lim Square and Funan DigitaLife Mall, the two major IT hubs of Singapore will be decorating their retail stores and will pit against each other to be the best decorated shop. VR-Zone readers can participate in event by voting for their favorite decorated shops online starting 1st November and the top prize is a GeForce 7800 GTX card sponsored by Inno3D!
