The signboard for the shop has not been set up yet, but it's located right outside of the main lift.

Grilled ventilation at the side of the slim PC.

A look at the inside

The absence of a full-fledged power supply contributes to it's slim attribute. In terms of power, a power adapter much like the ones used with laptops power it instead.

The ASUS EN7900GT TOP comes clocked significantly higher than the reference clock speeds- 520/1440MHz compared to the reference speed of 450/1300MHz.

Shopper Ambush of the Week

What are shoppers buying this week? Well we set up another of our weekly ambush and stalked our target this week, Vincent.

Our friend is looking for an almost full system overhaul. As shared by him, his old DFI nForce 2 motherboard died recently so he decided it was time to do a system overhaul. His previous one-year old rig was based on the DFI nForce 2 with an AMD Barton CPU, propelled graphically by the ATi 9800 Pro.

He chose to go with an AMD Dual Core 4400+, remaining on the AMD side as he heard that the Intel CPUs run hot. His previous PC was already making him sweat from it's heat output. Initially he was eyeing the ASUS A8N32 SLI Deluxe to bundle with the CPU after reading some good reviews on it, but recommendations from the retail shop Fuwell and Bell on the MSI K8N Neo Platinum convinced him this was the better board. Goes to show how powerful words from retailers can be eh?

Also following recommendations from the staff, he decided to purchase the ASUS EN7900GT TOP going for $ 619. Topped it off with an Antec True-power 2.0 550w power supply and a pair of GEIL 2GB PC3200 DDR Memory kit. All in all, the whole upgrade cost him $ 2100, but he was happy and excited to finally be able to play his latest game Oblivion at high settings.

Quite the hard-core gamer ain't he!

Do's & Don'ts Tips

Talking about Sales staff in Sim Lim Square, how about some tips for the shoppers from them? The do's and don't's for best service and occassional discounts.

Do:

-Come shopping during weekdays 11:30am time range for best service or if you have many queries for them. They will be most free to attend to your needs.

-Try to do some online research on the products you have in mind so that you have a clearer picture of the choices and the pros and cons of each. A good place to start would be VR-Zone and VRForums, a must-visit they say! :)

Don't:

-Try not to interrupt the sales personals as they are talking to other customers with 'smart' comments such as 'This product is not good at all, the other one is better.' and 'I saw this selling so much cheaper at the other shop!'

Be nice to them and they'll be nice to you... Sometimes the calculator is a much better communicator. 'This goes for...' as they whip out the calculator and flashes it to you. This means a DISCOUNT!

But don't go around blasting the horn on this special privillege! It's not for everyone!
