Convergent To Distribute SMC Products

SMC Networks (www.smc-asia.com), a leading technology provider of LAN hardware, broadband connectivity devices and SOHO/Home wireless products, today announced the appointment of its new distributor, Convergent Systems (S) Pte Ltd. This new appointment is a result of the expected growth of the Singapore market for SMC products, therein strengthening its channel presence and distribution.

With over twenty four years of experience, Convergent Systems has established a strong foothold in the retail and System Integrator distribution channels. Convergent Systems is able to provide networking expertise and consultation in the enterprise arena, in addition to attending to the SOHO, consumer retail and new emerging channels. Based on its accumulated years of knowledge in distribution and wide channel coverage, Convergent Systems was chosen to provide a wider network of dealers offering the full range of SMC Networks products to customers.

According to IDC report for WLAN in the Enterprise, the potential for WLAN in the corporate environment is being tapped increasingly as businesses are attracted to its convenience and ease of use, ease of network management, its positive effect on enhancing business processes, as well as being compelled by the rising need for mobility. Additionally, service providers and equipment vendors are also aggressively addressing market acceptance, security concerns, and corporate functionality requirements.
