30 April 2008 - GeForce 9800 GT will be available on both 65nm and 55nm process as we learned. The 65nm version is actually a rebranded GeForce 8800 GT based on G92 core while the 55nm version is actually G92b core we have told you before. Both will be higher clocked than the 8800 GT. The reason is that Nvidia is not comfortable to go full fledge 55nm process like AMD so the 65nm version is more of a safety precaution just in case the yield from 55nm doesn't turn out well.

29 April 2008 - Nokia announced today that the Nokia Music Store in Singapore is now “live” at www.music.nokia.com.sg. With millions of tracks from major international artists, independent labels and Asian content, the Nokia Music Store brings true freedom to music lovers letting people buy and enjoy music directly from their Nokia device or personal computer 24/7. 25 April 2008 - In 2004, 20-50 million tons of e-waste was produced worldwide, according to research carried out by Greenpeace. This will equal the total waste produced in Taiwan in 2 to 6 years time. In light of this, inappropriate disposal of IT-waste will no doubt cause irreparable damage to the earth we live on. At a press conference in commemoration of Earth Day (22nd April), ASUS and Intel, together with electronics retailer Tsann Kuen Enterprise, have announced plans for a collaboration to help the environment through a “PC Recycling for a Brighter Future” program – showing how the IT industry has taken the initiative to work together for collection and recycling of old laptops, PCs and LCD monitors in a bid to help the environment.

24 April 2008 - The first 2 models from the GeForce 9900 series will be 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS instead of 9900 GT we reported earlier and they will be GT200 based not G92b based. Nvidia is slated to launch them in July to counter AMD RV770 series which is slated for launch during Computex. Nvidia will differentiate the two cards by the number of stream processors and memory bus width

23 April 2008 - Nvidia is planning to release the cheaper SLI capable chipset for AMD platform this month end. The NVIDIA nForce 740a SLI SPP includes 2×8 PCI Express 2.0 lanes (configurable as 1×16) and 2×1 PCI Express 1.0 lanes, 12 USB ports, six SATA ports, and single GigE.

22 April 2008 - Fujitsu announced the release of the MHZ2 CJ Series of 320 GB(1) 2.5" hard disk drives with automatic hardware-based encryption to effectively secure data against theft or loss, along with the industry's highest rotational speed of 7200-rpm and a 3.0 Gb/s Serial ATA interface. The new series of drives for computers and external storage devices will be available at the end of May 2008.

30 April 2008 - Kingston today announced it is first to offer high performance, low-latency DDR2-667 SO-DIMM notebook memory to the world. Offering greater performance options for existing mobile platforms, the HyperX DDR2-667 CL4 SO-DIMM kits in 2GB and 4GB capacities are the first in a new line of memory innovations Kingston plans to release over the next few months to the notebook market.

29 April 2008 - A-DATA Technology today announced its largest capacity USB flash drives in two models, the 32GB PD2 and PD9 that it is expanding its USB flash drive family lines with new 32GB capacity offerings. The 32GB PD2 and PD9 which is about the size of 69.6mm x 17mm x 10mm (L x W x H ), and is small and light enough to be taken anywhere.

28 April 2008 - VR-Zone got to know that the GeForce 9900 GTX card is 10.5" long, full height and dual slot and the cooler is TM71 from CoolerMaster. Dubbed GT200 or D10U, we heard that this architecture might be dual chip with TDP up to 240W.

25 April 2008 - For the high-end enthusiasts segment., Nvidia will launch GeForce 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS in July to replace the 9800 GX2 and GTX. There is a die shrink on G92 for GeForce 9800 GT cards. Nvidia has also cancelled plans to launch GeForce 9800 GTS because there are simply too many high end GPUs. We told you earlier, GeForce 9600 GSO will launch on May 13th which is just a rebrand of the 8800 GS. The rest of the mainstream and value GPUs like 9500 GT, 9500 GS, 9300 GE and 9300 GS will come in June-July timeframe.

25 April 2008 - BFG announced today the BFG ES-800, an enthusiast level 800 watt power supply which has won numerous awards for its high efficiency and unique Frequency Conversion technology.. This makes the unit at least 80% efficient, even with loads as low as 10% of the unit's maximum capability. 23 April 2008 - Nvidia is planning to add a new G92-451 GPU to the existing GeForce 9800 GX2 cards based on G92-450 GPUs. However, the transition is almost invisible as it is pin to pin compatible and interchangeable with the existing GPUs without the need to update BIOS or drivers. The reason for change is due to improved manufacturing yields and ensuring continuity of NVTTM production supply. We are speculating G92-451 might be 55nm based for better yield, lower cost and power.
