Olympus, the industry leader in opto-digital technologies and pioneer in the digital camera market, today introduced a pair of highly affordable and user-friendly compact cameras from its FE-series – the Olympus FE-150 and Olympus FE-160 – that are equipped with 5.0 and 6.0 megapixels, respectively.

Both cameras deliver detailed, high-quality pictures in any given situation. Their respective precision 3x and 2.8x optical zoom lenses allow subjects to be brought in close – with an additional 4x digital zoom boosting magnification power even further.

Novice photographers will certainly benefit from the straightforward camera controls as most functions are quickly accessible with a single button. The menu employs easy-to-understand symbols, complemented by quick and easy explanations so that shooting under different conditions becomes child’s play.

Endowed with a lightweight and slim metallic design, these cameras exude style and are compact enough to be taken along anywhere. Despite its compact form factor, a huge 6.4 cm LCD with 230,000 pixels makes framing compositions and viewing easy.
Both the FE-150 and FE-160 come equipped with five different scene modes, including Portrait, Landscape and Night Scene – these ensure optimal settings to be automatically selected to suit the prevailing conditions.

Additionally, the Super Macro mode allows extreme close-up photography from as close as 6 cm away. Both cameras are also enabled for movie recording with sound.

Each camera includes the user-friendly Olympus Master Software. With this application, editing images on the PC is just as much fun as shooting them. Easy downloading, organising and printing are some of the software’s handy functions. For convenience, both cameras include the new, longer-lasting LI-42B rechargeable battery.

The Olympus FE-150 and Olympus FE-160 will be available at all major retailers and dealers in mid-March 2006 at the recommended retail price of S$399 (inclusive of GST) and S$499 (inclusive of GST), respectively.
