CrossLinx is basically a PCI-E 2.0 switch that automatically splits the PCI-E 2.0 x16 lanes into 2 when you're running triple card CrossFireX.
I thought it's the Maximus Formula which has 2 editons: the SE and no SE.
The SE contains a water block while the non SE does not.
And what's with the CrossLinx when the x38 already supports both PCIe x16 at full speed?
The CrossLinx will allow 3 graphics cards to run at PCI-e x16/ x8/ x8. When only 2 graphics cards are used, both will operate at PCI-E 2.0 x16.
On the regular X38 boards, you only get 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots.
In short, you get the opportunity to run triple-crossfire without choking the graphics cards.
